What is the AI Co-Host?

The AI Co-Host is an optional feature available exclusively to room hosts. It provides AI-generated content: welcome messages, trivia questions, activity suggestions, and game summaries. The feature is gated behind a feature flag and requires Anthropic API credits to operate.

Listeners are not required to interact with the AI Co-Host. If a host enables it, the output is displayed in the room interface for everyone to see. Hosts choose when and how to use it.

What AI Technology Powers It?

The AI Co-Host uses Anthropic's Claude API (Claude Haiku model). Anthropic is a separate company from Spaces Companion. By using the AI Co-Host feature, data from your session is processed by Anthropic under their Terms of Service and Privacy Policy.

What Data Is Sent to Anthropic?

When a host triggers an AI Co-Host action, we send only:

• The type of action requested (e.g., "generate trivia on topic: K-Pop")
• General room context (activity type, anonymized participant count)
• Any topic text the host explicitly provides in the AI panel

We do not send to Anthropic: individual user IDs, handles, display names, private chat messages, karma balances, personal profile data, any audio from the X Space, or IP addresses.

Limitations and Warnings

AI responses may be inaccurate. Trivia answers may be wrong. Hosts should review AI output before sharing it.

AI responses may be inappropriate. Despite safeguards, AI models can occasionally generate unexpected content. Hosts are responsible for deciding whether to share AI-generated content.

Not professional advice. Nothing the AI Co-Host generates constitutes medical, legal, financial, or other professional advice. It is entertainment only.

AI does not control playback or gameplay. The AI Co-Host only generates text suggestions. It cannot add songs, change game scores, or take any action on its own. All actions require explicit host confirmation.

How to Opt Out

The AI Co-Host is off by default and must be enabled by a system administrator. As a listener, if you are uncomfortable with AI-generated content, you may leave the room. As a host, simply do not use the AI Co-Host panel — no data is sent to Anthropic unless you actively use it.
